Giant Tanaids [Colletteidae]

Description

Colletteidae, known as the giant tanaids, are a family within the order Tanaidacea. They are distinguished by their relatively large size, robust bodies, and well-developed chelipeds (claw-bearing legs). Colletteidae are predominantly found in deep-sea environments, where they inhabit the sediment. Their diet consists mainly of small invertebrates and organic detritus.
