Description

Calyptraeidae, commonly referred to as cup-and-saucer snails or slipper limpets, are a family of marine gastropods with distinctive, cap-shaped shells. These snails are often found living in stacks on hard substrates in shallow waters, feeding on plankton and detritus. Their reproductive behavior is notable for sequential hermaphroditism, where individuals can change sex from male to female as they grow.
