Apoyo Lagoon

Apoyo Lagoon is a volcanic crater lake located between the departments of Masaya and Granada. This lagoon is the largest volcanic lagoon in Nicaragua and offers freshwater diving experiences. Divers can explore the clear waters of the lagoon, which are home to a variety of fish species endemic to the lagoon. The underwater landscape includes rock formations, volcanic rocks, and thermal vents. Visibility is generally good, offering a unique diving experience different from ocean diving.
