Also known as the Gulf of California, the Sea of Cortez is a marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean that separates the Baja California Peninsula from the Mexican mainland. It is renowned for its biodiversity, including whales, dolphins, and sea lions, as well as its beautiful reefs and islands such as Espiritu Santo.
