The Wreck of the Vasa

About this Dive Site

Description

The Vasa is a 17th-century Swedish warship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1628. The ship was remarkably well-preserved in the cold, brackish waters of the Baltic, and it was salvaged in 1961. The wreck is now displayed in a museum, but the site of the sinking is sometimes visited by divers.
