The passion for diving in the captivating waters of Sri Lanka ignited the establishment of this premier dive resort, which first opened its doors in 1999. Strategically located in the picturesque Unawatuna Bay on the island's southern coast, this PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Resort is a beacon for divers seeking quality instruction and unforgettable adventures. It also proudly holds the distinction of being Sri Lanka's first and only PADI Freediving School. The Unawatuna center is ideally situated approximately 5 kilometers south of Galle, directly on the Matara Road (A2), making it easily accessible. This facility operates annually from November 1st to April 10th, welcoming divers daily from 8 am to 6 pm. During the months of the southwest monsoon, when sea conditions can be rough and visibility reduced, the operation shifts to their sister location, Divinguru Nilaveli, on the northeast coast near Trincomalee, ensuring year-round diving opportunities. Whether you are drawn to the rich marine biodiversity of the south or the unique dive sites of the northeast, this resort offers a consistent standard of excellence for both recreational and technical divers, as well as freedivers, all underpinned by a deep love for the underwater world.
