This vibrant diving department, an integral part of the SVD 1949 Dortmund e.V. sports club, is dedicated to the exhilarating world of recreational scuba diving. Operating on a volunteer basis, this organization is a proud member of the VDST (Verband deutscher Sporttaucher), adhering to the highest standards of diver training and safety. The core mission is to introduce individuals to the wonders of breathing underwater and to facilitate their journey towards internationally recognized diving certifications. The team of highly trained volunteer instructors brings a wealth of experience to the table, offering a complete curriculum of diving education. From introductory "try dive" experiences that allow newcomers to sample the underwater realm, to advanced certifications like DTSA *** / VDST-CMAS-Taucher ***, they cater to all levels of aspiring divers. A significant benefit for members is the complimentary rental of essential scuba gear, including air tanks, BCDs (buoyancy control devices), and regulators, all of which are included in the club membership fee. This makes the pursuit of diving accessible and removes a common barrier to entry, allowing members to focus on learning and enjoying the sport.
